Anthony Travalgia: Would you rather… Version 2 Would you rather...sign Torey Krug for $7+ Million a year, or let him sign elsewhere in free agency?

I would like to see if he’s a team player and take $6m like the leaders of the team are. If not he becomes trade bait.

My cap would be 6.7 mil per...he is not worth more than any member of the perfection line...period. I hope they sign him, I really do but things have to be kept in perspective. Let's not forget our PP was middle of the pack in 2010/2011...we can get by with a "decent" PP.

The cap increases and so do NHL contracts. You cant just tell every player that comes along that they can't make more than Patrice. I would hope that Krug signs for money around there but to be honest. Patrice, Marchand and Pasta are all incredibly underpaid.

$7M is a little steep for him. Yeah he gets points and qb the powerplay. But he does lack a physical presence.

How many years in this hypothetical case?

i would pay him 7 mil but make sure a no trade is given. got to have options at the expansion draft protecting 3 defencemen. if you want to protect McAvoy, carlo and Grzelcyk you could trade krug or let him go in draft but get his service until then

He won't. With the cap jumping 4M this season, and likely another 4.5M next season, a 7M cap hit will be similar to a 6.25M this season (in terms of percent). The guy is 0.75ppg over his past 300 games, 40 points in his last 47 playoff games, and is having a terrific year again. Why would be paid so much less than all the D he was just compared with, especially after the cap jumps.

Have you been paying attention to what is happening? CAP going up like that is EXTREMELY optimistic.

The cap is based on revenues, which have taken a hit recently

Back to the first would you rather regarding Tuuk. I wouldn’t be surprised if he retires when his contract is up. He doesn’t seem like the type of player to go until he’s 40 and now it Looks like he has hinted that it’s a possibility.

What's the injury situation with Kevan Miller related to? Back? Is he going to play again, perhaps? UFA this off season. Be a good fit on a Leaf team. Never flashy, but always dependable protecting his end of the rink.

Hands off our players. Go re-sign Ceci - you'll be fine.

And they could probably get their hands on Phaneuf again for a huge upgrade on the back end.
